Crown Green Bowling Club

Session days and times: No formal meetings from October to March- some socials. Veterans Monday pm from 12.30, start 1.30. Midweek group on Wednesdays at 6pm, Saturday team 1pm. Tuesday afternoon we have a group with learning difficulties who come with their carers at 1.30.

Key activities: Bowls and socials in the Winter!

Age group: Any ages are welcome. The youngest is 11 and we have members into their 80s. The majority are pensioners.

Venue: The Glasshoughton Centre

Price: There are no membership fees for school children to encourage younger members. We have 35 members and have to pay subs to league. We would love a sponsor- so if any businesses or individuals out there have £200 to sponsor us, we would love to hear from you.

Maximum numbers/ waiting list: Any number. We are trying to attract more people, particularly young people. Two of our youngsters have already been picked to play for the district.

What’s special about us?

Anyone interested can come down to the centre in the afternoon, come and play and try us out.

Further information

We won the midweek league for the last two years. In 2008 we won the Len Garbert cup.
