Welcome to the Glasshoughton Centre web site.  My name is Derek Stead and I am manager of the Glasshoughton Centre and its complex.  The Glasshoughton Centre is run by Glasshoughton Community Forum Ltd, and they are responsible for the wonderful new buildings which we have, and the wide ranging modern sporting facilities.

Outdoor sports include cricket, football and bowls.  We have a state of the art Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) where football, netball, baseball etc can be played in all weathers throughout the year.  The MUGA is flood lit, so games can be played until 9pm every evening.

Our new changing room building was completed just 2 years ago, and offers one of the finest facilities in the district.

Similarly, our bowls section has a wonderful playing Green, and a new Pavilion which was completed during 2006.

We have a vast range of courses, events etc which we hold in the main Centre building.  In particular, we have a wide number of Health Improvement and Educational programmes. There are also many Children and family events and courses of interest.   Please click on the tab for ‘Courses’.   We also do our best to cater for everyone - so if you have ideas on other sports, activities etc we could be running - then let us know!

Apart from Dianne, Ann, Mick and Joe who help me run the complex - we also have a range of specialist staff based here who provide Professional services for local people.  You can find out who they are and what they do by clicking on ‘About Us’.
